Puma SpeedCat — Large-Scale Neon Installation — custom neon by Dani Bonnet, Los Angeles California

A freestanding neon and vintage-bulb sculpture, built for Puma’s SpeedCat campaign featuring Rosé of BLACKPINK.

For Puma’s SpeedCat campaign with Rosé of BLACKPINK, I designed and fabricated a large-scale, freestanding neon sculpture built to anchor the set on location in the desert. The piece combines hand-bent neon glass with vintage-style light bulbs — a pairing chosen to match the retro, racing-inspired identity of the SpeedCat itself, while still reading as a striking, high-contrast light source against open desert sun. Neon alone can wash out in direct daylight; the bulb work adds texture and a secondary layer of illumination that holds up on camera even in harsh, unfiltered light. The turnaround was tight, and the piece had to leave my studio ready to travel — built to withstand transport out to a remote shoot location and stand up structurally on-site for the full production schedule, with no room for on-set repairs. That meant building for durability first and treating the glasswork and bulb integration as a single, engineered structure rather than a decorative add-on. The sculpture served as the production’s centerpiece for the shoot, framing Rosé against the SpeedCat’s racing-inspired visual language.
